The Voice of Souls ; Les Indes galantes

“It goes far beyond us, Bintou — people need to experience this journey with us.”

Those are the words that stayed with me from Léo, who waited a full five years before allowing himself to imagine revisiting Les Indes galantes.

And it was worth the wait — coming together again, Léonardo and our teams. You don’t just reach the end of a relationship between dance, music, and voice.

And then, to be given full artistic direction — the freedom to reshape the libretto once more. A new journey, reaching out to the audience, tuning into what moves them, unsettles them, stirs them.

And for us, to come together as a community — to reinvent passion, urgency, and ritual.

To refine our shared language, our nuances, our silences, our pauses.

What remains of that youth dancing on the edge of an erupting volcano?

What tensions are still left for us to untangle, release, unfold?

And what boldness it takes to bring so many artists together on one stage, in such chaotic times.

My creativity is constantly sparked in these moments of uncertainty.
